Bill Pruden, longtime author of entries for the CALS Encyclopedia of Arkansas, shares his journey to becoming a historian of Arkansas.
William H. Pruden III is the director of civic engagement, a college counselor, and an instructor in history and social studies at Ravenscroft School in Raleigh, North Carolina. He earned an AB in history from Princeton University, a JD from Case Western Reserve University, and master’s degrees from Wesleyan University and Indiana University. He has contributed over 250 entries to the CALS Encyclopedia of Arkansas and has also contributed chapters to books on a number of American history topics as well as dozens of items in other historical encyclopedias and reference works.
