This presentation explores the growth of tourism around the Hot Springs area in the late 1800s and early 1900s, telling the story of Cluster Springs’ structures and trails and showing how this development fits with other nearby springs.

Nikki Senn is an Advanced Architectural Historian for the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ArDOT) in the Environmental Division’s Cultural Resources Section. She evaluates structures throughout Arkansas to determine their historic significance. Senn coordinates the historic bridge process and participates as an ArDOT Historic Bridge Analysis Committee member. She joined the ArDOT in November 2015 after completing an MA in public history from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Senn’s experience also includes work with the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program, Historic Arkansas Museum, and Capitol Zoning District Commission (CZDC).
