Shop Small Business Saturday with CALS

On Saturday, November 27, retail enthusiasts are invited to shop locally at Library Square. You can shop small this year by purchasing from local artists and entrepreneurs; give the gift of supporting a new business while also giving unique and handcrafted gifts to your loved ones. The Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) will be participating in Small Business Saturday at two locations downtown: The Galleries & Bookstore at Library Square, 401 President Clinton Avenue, and the Rock It! Lab in the Cox Building, 120 River Market Avenue. Both sites will be open 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

The Galleries & Bookstore at Library Square features two retail galleries that represent more than 40 Arkansas artists, a selection of books by local authors, and literary-themed merchandise. During Small Business Saturday, shoppers can enjoy 50 percent off all gently read books. The Galleries & Bookstore is offering the discount on both Black Friday and Small Business Saturday.

The Rock It! Lab, a collaboration between CALS and Advancing Black Entrepreneurship, helps aspiring business owners within under-resourced communities as they walk the path of entrepreneurship. A Pop-Up Shop will be open in the Rock It! Lab’s River Shop space on the first floor. Guests are invited to peruse items from more than twenty up-and-coming vendors, offering a variety of goods, from non-perishable food items, hand-made jewelry, and one-of-a-kind artwork to clothing and housewares. The library’s parking lot will also serve as a mini food court with refreshments available for purchase from food trucks, including a coffee cart.

All CALS libraries will be open regular business hours. For more information about the Galleries & Bookstore at Library Square or Rock It! Lab, please visit cals.org. You may also contact:
