As of September 28, 2020, CALS Bobby L. Roberts Library of Arkansas History & Art (including CALS Galleries at Library Square, CALS Butler Center for Arkansas Studies, and UA Little Rock Center for Arkansas History and Culture) is open to the public the following days and times: 

  • Galleries at Library Square (501.320.5790) 
    • Wednesday and Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. 
    • Saturday noon to 5 p.m. 
  • Research Room (501.320.5700) 
    • Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

The main entrance, located at 401 President Clinton Ave., will be open for patrons to access the Galleries at Library Square and the 2nd floor Research Room. Patrons are able to walk in to browse and shop the Galleries. 

Patrons must make an appointment to access the 2nd Floor Research Room, including computers and open-stack genealogy resources. We will accommodate limited walk-ups if distancing requirements allow. 

Patrons using closed stacks material and manuscript collections must request the specific collections they would like to access at least two business days in advance by contacting

Once the material is ready, a staff person will contact the patron. Appointments are required to access these materials. 

Masks and social distancing practices are required for the safety of staff and patrons.
