Guided Group Tours

CALS Bobby L. Roberts Library comprises three buildings – Porbeck & Bowman (1882), Geyer & Adams (1914), and the Manuscript and Rare Book Repository (2009).

Guided tours of the CALS Roberts Library are available for groups of all ages. Available Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (and select Saturdays), tours must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance.

In addition to guided tours, the CALS Roberts Library also offers a Self-Guided Tour option.

Building Tour

  • Learn about the preservation and restoration of the three buildings from three different centuries that make up the Bobby L. Roberts Library of Arkansas History & Art.
  • Explore five art galleries and the Research Room.
  • Available in conjunction with a tour of CALS Main Library or tour of Library Square.
  • Tour length – 45 minutes
    • Abbreviated to 20 minutes when paired with CALS Main Library/Library Square tour.
  • Tour group size:
    • Minimum of 3 and maximum of 50 people.

Family History & Genealogy Tour

  • Find out about the genealogy and family history resources offered at the Roberts Library.
  • Great activity for your family reunion, civic group, or church group.
  • Available in conjunction with a tour of CALS Main Library or tour of Library Square.
  • Tour length – 45 minutes
    • Abbreviated to 20 minutes when paired with CALS Main Library/Library Square tour – 20 minutes.
  • Tour group size:
    • Minimum of 3 and maximum of 50 people.

Gallery Talk

  • Tour one of our five art galleries with the artist.
  • Availability limited to artists’ schedules.
  • Tour length – 20 to 30 minutes (depending on artist/exhibition)
  • Tour group size:
    • Depends on artist

Please request tour at least two weeks prior to desired date and time. Tour availability depends on CALS Roberts Library staffing.
