About the Project

This fall 2025 seminar was a three-part, in-person program designed to support community historians and citizen archivists from religious communities active in Central Arkansas who are interested in preserving and sharing their community histories. The program provided hands-on training in archival best practices, digitization, and digital storytelling, along with access to equipment, resources, and a starter kit for each participant. Through monthly evening sessions at the Fletcher Library and ongoing connection via a private online community, participants practiced identifying, organizing, preserving, and digitizing historical materials, and how to present their stories through accessible digital tools. At the end of the program, each faith community contributed digitized content, descriptions, and a short history of their faith community to be shared in this digital project.
