City Directories
City directories contain information about residential properties, local businesses, and government entities. Residential property information includes address, owner and resident information, and resident occupations.

Census Records
The first Federal Population Census was taken in 1790, and has been taken every ten years since. Census records are essential in property research for understanding the demographic makeup of households. Because of a 72-year restriction on access to the Census, the most recent year available is 1950. The 1950 Census was released on April 1, 2022.

- Newspapers.com – CALS provides access to the Arkansas Gazette and the Arkansas Democrat and other regional newspapers from the 1800s up to 1923 on Newspapers.com.

Fire Insurance Maps Online (FiMO)
FiMO is a research portal to find and view high-definition, color Fire Insurance Maps in Little Rock, Arkansas, showing building structures, building construction details, property ownership, property uses, and other useful information. Fire Insurance maps can be incredibly useful in understanding how the footprint, construction material, and even address of a property has changed over time. FiMO hosts maps from 1886-1950.

Quapaw Quarter Association records
This CALS Butler Center collection contains the research files of the Quapaw Quarter Association including files on individual homes and businesses arranged by address and numerous photographs.

Architectural Surveys
The Arkansas Historic Preservation Program and Quapaw Quarter Association (QQA) have both conducted surveys of properties within the Central Arkansas area that can serve as important starting points for historical property research.

National Register of Historic Places
National Register of Historic Places is the country’s official list of historically significant sites worthy of preservation. Authorized under the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, the National Register is part of a national program to coordinate and support public and private efforts to identify, evaluate, and protect our historic and archaeological resources. The National Register is administered by the National Park Service under the Secretary of the Interior. Properties listed in the National Register include districts, sites, buildings, structures, and objects that are significant in American history, architecture, archeology, engineering, and culture.
Be sure to check both individual and historic district listings – consult the City of Little Rock Historic Districts / Sites Map to identify potential historic districts.

Explore the Map - AR County Data – This online resource provided by the Pulaski County Clerk’s Office allows residents to search real estate records by address. For advice on how best to use this tool, please watch the getting started video at the top of this page.
Search for a property in AR County Data - Pulaski County Real Estate Records Portal – Using the legal description of a property (Section / Township / Range) residents can search this portal to access real estate records about a property.
Search the Portal - Bureau of Land Management General Land Office (GLO) records – This digitized record collection contains Federal land conveyance records for the Public Land States, including image access to more than five million Federal land title records issued between 1788 and the present. We also have images of survey plats and field notes, land status records, and control document index records.
