ASK-A-LIBRARIAN or GENEALOGIST

CALL or EMAIL us.

  • Do you have a question regarding your family history or about how to get started on your genealogy?
  • Are you just curious about something from Arkansas’s rich history?
  • Are you interested in locating a digitized photo we have online or want to know how to use the CALS Butler Center catalog?

Genealogy and Arkansas history are our specialties—but ask us a general reference question and we’ll try to answer that too. Librarians and archivists are brimming with curiosity and are always up for a challenge.

What are you waiting for? Ask away—we are ready and willing to take anything you want to throw at us! We are eager to get back into our workspace at the Roberts Library to see you all and do what we do best, but in the meantime, we’re here for you!

CALS Butler Center for Arkansas Studies staff members are glad to help you start your genealogy research as well as work with you to overcome genealogical road blocks and hurdles. The CALS staff is unable to conduct your research for you, but assistance in using sources and equipment is available in the Research Room on the 2nd floor of the CALS Bobby L. Roberts Library.

If you need detailed help, consider enlisting the help of a professional genealogist. The Association of Professional Genealogists has a database of member genealogists who can assist you with a full family history profile.
