Arkansas is our state: Differentiating between a State and a County
The goal of this unit is to teach students to identify the State of Arkansas on a map. They will learn the difference between a state and a country, discuss the lines and shapes that make up the State of Arkansas and create a State of Arkansas necklace as a culminating activity. The unit is designed to provide the kindergarten teacher with a music/art lesson using curriculum content. The unit is also designed to teach students how to recognize that information comes in different formats.
