Holiday Shopping at the Galleries & Bookstore at Library Square

An absolutely lovely discovery awaits you in Library Square!

The CALS Galleries & Bookstore at Library Square might be known for our excellent selection of gently read books at great prices, but we have much, much more, including unique local art, local authors’ books, and local snacks and sauces. Notice the common theme of “local”?

There are even hilarious socks, hand-drawn greeting cards, hand-carved wooden spoons, fragrant candles, and tons of fun gift items.

Our building also includes meeting spaces that create a wonderful, inviting atmosphere allowing attendees to do a little browsing and shopping on their breaks.

Our exhibition and retail space is vast, with hidden galleries around every corner: Underground, Loft, and Landing (exhibition), and West and Concordia Hall (retail). Click here to see the three exhibitions currently on view.

We also offer high-quality gently read books along with new books by Arkansas authors, including a full selection of Butler Center Books–which make great gifts for the Arkansas history buffs in your life.

Come on in and enjoy the artwork, browse our shelves of books for children and adults, or search for that perfect Arkansas memento or a gift for a friend, all the while knowing you are supporting the library system, local authors and artists, and many other businesses. You might even get all your shopping done in one place! Hours and visiting information can be found here.

And this Friday, December 9, is Second Friday Art Night (2FAN), in which area galleries host an after-hours art walk. Visit the Galleries & Bookstore at Library Square downtown in the CALS Roberts Library from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. to view all the exhibitions and do some shopping!

Ric and Marlene Gremillion will once again be Santa and Mrs. Claus!
